Green Flag awards

Our Fantastic Green Flag Award!

Well done to all of our school for achieving the Green Flag Award.  As you are aware we have worked really hard to win this top award.
There are three awards: bronze, silver and finally green.  We achieved bronze then decided to go straight for the highest accolade.  We were recently assessed  by Lyndsey from  the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) and then sent our special certificate and green flag.

The certificate, which proudly hangs in our entrance hall, and the flag, together with more information, is displayed by the `Eco Board.`
Please look at our fabulous photos and some of our Eco Buddies.  Our award and some of our children were featured in the local newspaper.

A very big well done and thank you to Mrs Beck, Mrs Vincent and the Eco Buddies.

So what now?  Of course we want to keep up the great work and maintain ‘Green Flag` status.  We will be assessed again in two years time by the FEE.  The new criteria for success will be the collection of evidence that we as a school have maintained our excellent `Eco` work. We will need to look at two different areas  for improvement or change within a selected criteria.  These may be: waste, recycling, litter, energy, healthy living, biodiversity, global perspective, pupil participation, transport or water.
Our newly elected Eco Buddies will be working hard to help us decide which area to work on during the year of 2013 and we will inform you of our decisions shortly.
